How long was the longest kiss ever?

The longest continuous kiss ever recorded was that of Thai couple Ekkachai and Laksana Tiranarat.  The couple lip-locked for 46:24:09 hours, beating the previous world record set in Germany in 2009 of just over 32 hours.

Ekkachai and Laksana were so determined to win that they smooch like there was no tomorrow during a Kissing Marathon held on Valentine's Day 2011 in Pattaya in Thailand.  They out-wit, out-last and out-kiss the other couples and emerged the winner despite very strict rules like no sitting or sleeping.

Competitors were allowed to drink water, coffee or juice - but only through straws while continuing to kiss. They also had to keep their lips locked during bathroom breaks while accompanied by contest monitors.

The winning pair were awarded a diamond ring, a cash prize of more than US3000 and the chance for a well-deserved rest.  Watch Ekkachai and Laksana Tiranarat's winning moment on the video below.
