Do wisdom teeth really make you wiser?

wisdom toothWisdom teeth are a third set of molars that usually comes in when a person reached 18 years or older.  They are called wisdom teeth because they come when a person is supposedly wiser because of his experiences and not because these teeth have some kind of supernatural powers that makes one smarter.

However, there are instances when wisdom teeth don’t come in at all. And if they do, they cause so much pain that they have to be pulled out. The reason for that pain is because human skulls are shaped differently today than they were many thousands of years ago.

Primitive man’s head was less rounded than ours, and his jaws were large enough to accommodate the third set of molars. Our jaws are smaller, and often there’s just no room for the wisdom teeth.
